What are The White Horse Inn's opening hours?

Our pub and bar is open Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00am to 11:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the exception of the period between Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

What are the restaurant opening times?

The restaurant is open Wednesday to Saturday for lunch (12:00pm–2:30pm) and dinner (5:30pm–8:30pm). On Sundays we serve Sunday lunch from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Please note the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Are you open on Bank Holidays?

We are generally open on Bank Holidays, and often run special menus and events over Bank Holiday weekends (such as our popular Seafood & Jazz weekend). We recommend calling ahead on 01798 869191 or checking our website and social media for Bank Holiday-specific hours and events

Is the pub open when the restaurant is closed?

Yes — if you are staying in one of our rooms on a Tuesday, our bar is accessible, but please be aware our restaurant kitchen is closed that evening.

What type of food does The White Horse Inn serve?

We serve modern British cuisine with a strong focus on locally sourced, seasonal Sussex produce. Head Chef Ben Miller crafts menus that change with the seasons, drawing on ingredients from trusted local farmers, fishermen, and growers. Our food is contemporary and elevated, recently earning us an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence.

Do you have a set menu?

Yes. We offer a set lunch menu available Wednesday to Saturday, priced at 2 courses for £28 or 3 courses for £32. We also run an à la carte menu and occasional special set menus for events and seasons (e.g., a Valentine's dinner or a festive Christmas menu).

How many rooms does The White Horse Inn have?

We have eight individually designed en-suite guest bedrooms. These include rooms within the main inn building as well as garden lodges. Our rooms are: Eclipse, Mill Reef, Galileo, Nijinsky, Frankel, See the Stars (garden lodge), Dubawi (garden lodge), and Dante (garden lodge).

What facilities are included in the rooms?

All rooms feature handcrafted beds with 400-thread-count linen, heated limestone floors, fog-free mirrors, Noble Isle toiletries, en-suite bathrooms, fibre-optic broadband, and complimentary tea and coffee. A full English breakfast is included in your room rate.

Are any rooms dog-friendly?

Yes! Our pet-friendly garden rooms welcome well-behaved dogs. If you'd like to bring your four-legged friend, please mention this when booking so we can allocate the most suitable accommodation. Our pub is also dog-friendly.

Check in is from 3pm and checkout is 11am. In your booking confirmation email you will receive full details.

Yes, we love dogs! Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our pub and bar area, and our pet-friendly garden rooms are available for guests travelling with dogs. Dogs on leads are welcome in the garden too. Please let us know you're bringing a dog when you book.
